Hours of Operation: The Youth Center daily hours, throughout the School Year are: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm. The building follows the school calendar. The only exception for this is when there are Special Events scheduled. The Youth Center is Closed on Saturday & Sunday. 

Road to Success Program: RTS has help 80 students to-date earned their GEDs with 9 students scoring with honors.   Our Guest speakers for August included, Coaching the Global Village staff who conducted Financial Banking workshops and Career Assessments with students.  Students also attended workshops by the Girls Connect Group, and the Domestic Abuse Council.    16 students in August earned their First Aid & CPR certifications, 4 earned their Home Health Aid Certifications.  All the students participated in Graduation Pictures.  August field included, ATC @ Daytona State College, Flagler Chamber, Palm Coast Fire Department and Wyotec in Ormond.  Three students enrolled into Daytona State College and six students obtained employment.   For more information contact, Brian Willard, RTS Program Manager 437-8279 or Taahira Lee, Youth Advocate 437-7526 ext. 1791. 

 

Youth Centers Student Advisory Council: The 2016-2017 SAC, is now accepting 9th & 10th grade youth interested in serving on this student governing body. This group will meet after school, twice a month, for the school year, and provide leadership for all Youth Center events and activities. Kamrin Bunn, SAC Chair, will provide direction for all members, and help navigate all activities for the school year. During this activity members will gain leadership skills as well as obtain consider Community Service hours. Applications to participate are available daily, after school, in the Youth Center.

Youth Center’s SWAT: Students Working Against Tobacco Chapter Updates: The Youth Center hosts one of three SWAT Chapters in Flagler County. FPC Junior: Destiny Cole Chairs the SWAT Team, and oversees all meetings. If you are in need of community service hours and leadership skills, as well as fighting “BIG” Tobacco Companies, come join our group.   Meetings will be held after school, twice a month. Applications for participation are available in the Youth Center.

 

Free “STEADFAST” Movie, Wednesday, October 26th : The Youth Center, along Stuart Marchman Act Behavioral, and Focus on Youth Coalition, is Co-Sponsoring the movie “Steadfast”, for area families, at 7:00pm, in the Flagler Auditorium, on the campus of Flagler Palm Coast High School. This movie, addressing Drugs, Alcohol and other teen issues, was created and produced by local youth. Support Red Ribbon week, by checking out this awesome film. 

 

Teen Talk Returns: Once a week, Ms. Victoria Langello, an Adolescent Behavioral Specialist from Stuart Marchman Act, conducts a rap session, for participants. This activity is offered once a week, on a voluntary basis to all youth center participants. Keep an eye out for stating date and times of this program.
