2012 G.W. Carver Foundation On-Line Auction: All Foundation members, under the direction of Chair: Barbara Revels are assembling a wonderful list of items to include in the 2012 Auction. The On-Line Auction event is the Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, with ALL proceeds going to improve, the G.W. Carver Center. Last year’s event raised over $5,000, and this years hopes to raise even more money. With an African Safari, and a SWAT Training available to bid on this year, chances are good the event will surpass last year’s figures. The auction is set to go live, on Monday, April 9^th and continue through Thursday, May 17^th. Youth Center Improvements: Brandon Seminara and Mike LoCastro combined knowledge to install a brand new building PA( Public Address) System, that works with our wireless microphones! No longer will Ms. Dottie need to leave her front desk, to roam the building looking for youth. Now she only has to Call for them, using our new system. Special thanks to the Youth Center’s Student Advisory Council, for funding this project. The duo also added a bank of “Black Lights” into the ceiling lighting fixtures for dances. Installing Black Light Bulbs, into the Youth Center’s ceiling fixtures was an idea that originated last year, by Melissa Boyles, a current SAC Member.

 

5^th, 6^th & 7^th  Grade  Spring Fling “GLOW” Dance: Friday, April 27^th , 6:00pm -9:00pm: WEAR A WHITE SHIRT to obtain a discount on admission and check out the buildings NEW Black Lights! A variety of “Glow” products will also be available for purchase throughout the event. DJ Mike is getting set for a “FUN” filled evening, and hopes you can attend! Summer Camp: “OPEN” Enrollment for Youth Center’s 2012 Summer Camp is underway. It’s NOT too early to be thinking about your Summer Camp options!  Before you know it, summer will be here and available camp slots limited.  The camp is limited to 60, 6^th -8^th grade students. Current 5^th graders are eligible to register. The cost is $125, for the ENTIRE summer program, there are no weekly fees. Trips are available, but not included in the registration fee. Spotlight on Flagler County Youth Talent Show Auditions: Yes, it’s time again to prepare to crown 2012’s Youth Entertainers of the Year! Flagler County youth in grades K-12^th, can audition to be in this year’s show.  Once again, we will have two divisions, one for grades K-6^th, and one for grades 7^th -12^th.  “Open” Auditions are set for Tuesday April 24^th & Wednesday April 25^th, 5pm-7pm, in the Flagler County Youth Center. If you can sing, dance, play an instrument, or have any other talent and would like to be in our 2012 show, set for Thursday, May 24^th, in the Flagler Auditorium, then plan to audition on the 4/24 or 4/25.
