Summer Program Weekly Up-Date

July 2, 2012 - July 6, 2012

Good News:  All Campers, Counselors In Training, Volunteers, and Staff have successfully completed three weeks of the Flagler County Youth Center’s Summer Program!

Slowly we are working to identify our 212 Camp Champions in 8-Ball, Pink-Pong, Fooseball, Jenga, Checkers, and Halo.  Qualifying rounds were played in every age group. The following camper finished 1st , 2nd, or 3rd, being eligible to play on the Camp Championships. In Halo: Julien Collins, Dawson Germano, Devon Schack, Monte Russell, Cain Wilson, Devin Mathews, Jay Karty,   Jordan Pittmon, and Hunter Turner.  Checkers: Austin Branning, Devon Schack, Enzo Castillo, Dalton Germano, Jay Karty, Devin Schack, Monte Russell, Gabby Bevacqua, and Andrea Abreu. Foosball: Austin BranningDevon Schack, Enzo Castillo, Sammie Torres, Jay Karty, Shane Ford, Scott Snoberger, Adam Arnold, and Destiny Cole. 8-Ball: Austin Branning, Dawson Germano, Julien Collins, Bianca Secor, Irelan Eddy, Seven Hughes, Russell Hughell, Ashia Barnes, and Monte Russell.  Jenga: Enzo Castillo, Austin Branning, Dylan Germano, Irelan Eddy, Sydnee Sciancalepore, Bianca Secor, Adam Arnold, Andea Abreu,  and Destiny Cole. Ping-Pong: Dawson Germano, Dylan Germano, Julian Collins, Devin Mathews, Dalton  Sciancelepore, Caine Wilson, Adam Arnold, Andrea Abreu, and Monte Russell.  Every Camp Champion will receive their choice of a free trip to Daytona Lagoon, or a trip to the I-Max Theater.

Tuesday Tennis got back into the swing of things, with last week’s class being rained out.  Wednesday, the center was closed so that everyone could see the 4th of July Fireworks.

Thursday’s Arts & Crafts project was a lot of fun. Ms. Linda had a number of people making “Friendship Bracelets”. Bianca Aviles, Jake Dotson, Lauren Ford, Gabriella Bevacqua, Bianca Secor, Nicolette Gemelli , and Irelan Eddy all took part in this creative activity.

Friday’s Trip was to Epic Theaters to see a movie. Even though the theater is very close, 2 vans must be rented to drive the campers back and forth .

In closing, week four was a lot of fun! Please extend our congratulations to your children for a job well done!  Both Shannon & I would like to thank each of you for allowing your child to participate in our program, and in making a super effort to pick your child up before our 5:30pm closing!

Looking forward to and wonderful summer and the continued opportunity to work with you and your child!

Respectfully,

Cheryl Massaro, Director and Shannon Diamond, Assistant Director
