Good News: All Campers, Counselors In Training, Volunteers, and Staff have successfully completed three weeks of the Flagler County Youth Center’s Summer Program!
Congratulations Camp Champions: The following individuals were named 2012 Camp Champions after a total camp tournament:
8-Ball: Austin Branning
Checkers: Monte Russell
Fooseball: Austin Branning
Halo: Dawson Germano
Jenga: Irelan Eddy
Ping-Pong: Dylan Germano
For winning, each Campion was given the opportunity to attend either the IMAX or the last trip to Daytona Lagoon, for FREE!
Tuesday Tennis class continued, and participants are getting a great opportunity to learn this lifetime sport. Wednesday’s trip was a return trip to Daytona Lagoon. Everyone had a great time, and the water was AWESOME!
Thursday’s Arts & Crafts project was nail painting. Ms. Linda had a number of individuals take advantage of this creative opportunity. Andrea Abreu, Irelan Eddy, Tiffany Chapman, Destiny Cole, Jake Dotson, and Devon Shack are just a few campers to take advantage of this opportunity. The group was assisted by Ms. Pricilla and her daughter Miss Bianca.
Friday’s Bowling was a real ball! To help bowlers concentrate on the head pin, we held a “Bowling for Dollars” event. Every strike that was recorded by campers resulted in wining $1.00. By the end of the event we had a number of WINNERS. 6th Grader Sean Lynch headed the campers by recording 6 strikes, followed closely by Dylan Germano with 4 strikes. The only individual scoring better, was camp & trip volunteer, Bianca Aviles, with 8 strikes! Keep in mind, Bianca is also on the FPCHS Bowling Team, and was invited to attend to help instruct and encourage all participants.
In closing, week five was a lot of fun! Please extend our congratulations to your children for a job well done! Both Shannon & I would like to thank each of you for allowing your child to participate in our program, and in making a super effort to pick your child up before our 5:30pm closing!
Looking forward to and wonderful summer and the continued opportunity to work with you and your child!
