Summer Program Weekly Up-Date

July 16, 2012 - July 20, 2012

**Daily Front Desk Phone Number: 386-586-5136**

Dear Parents & Guardians:

Good News:  All Campers, Counselors- In-Training, Volunteers, and Staff have successfully completed three weeks of the Flagler County Youth Center’s Summer Program!

Red, White & Blue Camp Championship: Every year the entire camp is divided into Red, White or Blue teams, to compete for Bragging Rights, and an end of year Pizza Party.  Every activity campers experience is set for competition between teams. Individual campers are selected a Team Captains, and it is their job to organize their teams into a competitive machine. The captains that are the strongest leaders will develop the wining team! 2012 Red, White and Blue Team Captains are: RED: Andrea Abreu, Monte Russell, Scott Snowberger. WHITE: Dillon Germano, Devin Matthews, Kayla Webster. BLUE: Sydney Sciancalepore, Bianca Secor, and Hunter Turner.

Tuesday Tennis Class continued, and participants are getting a great opportunity to learn this lifetime sport. Ms. Linda also offered campers an opportunity to purchase lunch form McDonalds, and personally drove to McDonalds’s to pick up all orders.

Wednesday’s Trip was to the I-Max Theater in St. Augustine to see Spiderman. Before the movie, the bus stopped at McDonalds, for an early lunch. It was a super trip and everyone had a great time. The I-Max Screen really comes alive and puts everyone watching in the movie. Many heads were dodging items throughout the entire show, including Ms. Cheryl’s!

Thursday’s Arts & Crafts project was Foam Art. A number of campers participated and created some awesome projects. Ms. Linda assisted: Andrea Abreu, Jake Dotson, Devon Shack, Russell Hughell, Keshawn Bell, and Irelan Eddy. Artists created very cool cup holders, Visors, and Book Markers. All participants took advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

In closing, week six was a lot of fun! Please extend our congratulations to your children for a job well done!  Both Shannon & I would like to thank each of you for allowing your child to participate in our program, and in making a super effort to pick your child up before our 5:30pm closing!

Looking forward to and wonderful summer and the continued opportunity to work with you and your child!
