September 26th, 3:30pm:

The Flagler County Youth Center plans to reopen on Monday September 30th. If there are any changes to our schedule, we will share them on our social media accounts and website.

As Hurricane Helene begins to move closer to Florida’s shores, updated data from Flagler County Emergency Management has led Flagler Schools to make a change to its most recent decision regarding schools tomorrow.

Given the shift in forecast conditions as of our 8 p.m. update from Flagler County Emergency Management, we will now be closing all schools across the district for Friday, September 27. Any extracurricular activities or athletic events taking place after school hours and into the weekend will take place as scheduled.

After earlier deciding to open our schools, new developments with the storm have resulted in a shift in the forecast for tomorrow morning. This new forecast has led to the closing of all of our schools tomorrow. The safety of our students, faculty, staff and community remain our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and will bring you any necessary updates as they become available.

Please continue to monitor our district website and social media platforms for any further updates. We will contact you if there are any additional updates to share.

Please stay safe and adhere to any guidance provided by local authorities as the storm moves through our area.

In accordance with directives from Flagler Schools, the Youth Center and Hockey Rink will be closed on Thursday, September 26th, until further notice. Staff will assess the facility on Friday to decide when it will reopen.

“In coordination with Flagler County Emergency Management, we are closely monitoring Hurricane Helene as it approaches Florida’s Big Bend region tomorrow.

Out of an abundance of caution, all Flagler Schools classes and school-related activities scheduled for Thursday, September 26, will be canceled.

While Flagler County is not expected to experience the storm’s full impact, the potential of higher-than-normal winds and localized flooding remains. The safety of our students, faculty, staff and families is our top priority, and this precaution is being taken with their well-being in mind. We recognize the disruption this may cause to your routine, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate this situation. We will continue to provide updates through our internal communications, social media and the media-at-large.

Please stay safe and adhere to any guidance provided by local authorities as the storm moves through our area. “
