Upon entering the Youth Center, students were given a raffle ticket. Youth Center management then called out tickets one at a time to reveal the winners. With over 40 various winnable prizes, including candy and gift cards, almost everyone was a winner that day. We would like to thank everyone who attended and are glad we could show love and appreciation to our students. | | PBIS Grade ChecksDuring the month of February, the Flagler County Youth Center continued its efforts to promote positive behavior both in and out of the classroom. Students who earned all A’s on their progress reports received pizza, chips, and a drink. Those who earned A’s and B’s were allowed to choose two of these options. We hope our students continue to work hard to improve their grades and themselves. Another grade check will take place at the end of the third quarter and is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th. | Rink UpgradesWe’re excited to announce that improvements are officially underway at our hockey rink. The first upgrade includes the installation of protective netting behind the east hoops to help prevent balls from going over the fence and onto Bulldog Drive, creating a safer environment for everyone. We’ve also added brand new backboards, installed by our outstanding Flagler Schools Maintenance Department.
During Spring Break, a brand new playing surface will be installed, giving the rink a fresh look and an enhanced experience for our students and community. We are incredibly grateful to the Flagler Schools Maintenance Department for their hard work in replacing the backboards and coordinating the resurfacing of the rink. We look forward to everyone enjoying these exciting improvements. | Talent Show AuditionsAs we approach the end of the third quarter we are starting to plan the annual talent show. The auditions for the Spotlight on Flagler Youth Talent Show are tentatively set to April 7th and April 8th. Carver Center hosted the "Love You to The Moon: Someone Special Dance" on February 13th. The event was orchestrated by Melanie Restauro, a senior at Flagler Palm Coast High School (FPC), and Anna Grigoruk, a junior at FPC, under the direction of Ms. Giuliano, the IB Coordinator at FPC. Attendees were provided with pizza, stations to make matching bracelets and Valentine’s Day cards, musical chairs, and other festive activities. The Flagler County Education Foundation was thrilled to sponsor students from the Bunnell community who would not otherwise have been able to attend the Someone Special Dance. These students are also from the Education Foundation Great Minds Summer Program, which will host 45-50 students during the 2026 Summer Session. Sincere gratitude is extended to the families and volunteers whose contributions made this event exceptional. | | | | | | | Brandon Seminara Brandon is using Smore to create beautiful newsletters |
